Evelyn's 1st Hiking Trip

We took Evelyn hiking this last weekend for the first time to Beacon Rock. We had a group of friends come visit us and watch Reuben's play and then we all went hiking the next day. It was such a beautiful day to go out as a family and with our friends. Reuben and I plan to make this summer about exploring the Gorge and all it's wonderful hiking trails as a family. Evelyn LOVED it! We love our backpack for Evelyn. It is easy to use and works well on both Reuben and me (a great consignment store find)!

February Fun!!!

We have been a busy family this month. Reuben was in another play called "The Boor". It was one of 5, one act, plays. He played a male shovanist pig, very much out of his real character. He did a marvolous job!

Evelyn is growing up so fast. Seems like everyday she looks bigger. She runs about the house, enjoys her books, and LOVES her Teddy. She talks up a storm already. Her vocabulary consists of Mommy, Daddy, Cat, Ball, This (pointing at something and wanting to know what it is), and many other non English words to point out something like Duck, Horse, Dall, etc. She also mimics sounds. Evelyn's favorite past times are dancing and singing. As soon as music comes on, she is a moving.

As for me, I have been trying to catch up on some reading in my spare time and also getting crafty. Since spring is near, I have a lot I would like to get my hands on. I love this time of the year!

Photo Shoot - Evelyn 1 Year

Laura from Elle Images was our photographer at our wedding and also shot Evelyn’s newborn photos. We love her work so much and always enjoy having her take our photos so we asked her to come out for Evelyn’s 1 year to take some family photos of us. It was so worth it! We loved them all. It was so hard to choose just a “few” of them to post. We are going to print some of these larger for around our house. I just LOVE the ones of Evelyn in her tutu. She could not be more beautiful in my eyes.

Evelyn is 1 Year Old

For Evelyn’s 1 year old birthday we had a celebration at our house. The theme was Pandas and Polka-Dots. One of Evelyn’s favorite stuff animal is her Panda. Evelyn was dressed in a panda costume that my mom sewed a cupcake on and I made a hat and tail for her. She looked so darn cute! I made gluten free carrot cake in the shape of a panda face and also cupcakes. We had Amber design the invitations. There were polka-dots all around and on the staircase were photos of Evelyn over her first year. Everyone also got to take home a little frame photo of Evelyn. It was so much fun. Evelyn enjoyed all her friends and we enjoyed ours too.

I am so amazed it has already been a year since she was born. I love her so much!
